Structural Introduction
The pool type holding furnace consists of the following three parts: furnace body, heating elements and electrical control system. The upper part of the electrical control box is control circuit. The lower part is power circuit.
The furnace body is comprised of charging hole, holding chamber, discharging hole and furnace cover. The charging hole, discharging hole and holding chamber are casted as a whole by 84ACX castable which is produced by Allied Mineral Products. (compressive strength is 140MPA when temperature reaches 110℃. The line rate is 0.1%) This kind of castable has the advantage of aluminum non-stick, high strength, easy clean and long service life. The furnace cover adopts refractory fiber cotton with Janpnese brand which has good heat preservation performance and easy maintenance.
The electrical control system adopts PID control with the intelligent temperature controller, and the power regulator. The temperature control accuracy is ±3℃. The holding furnace for die casting also has the over-temperature alarm.

Power supply: 3-phase 5-wire , 380V±10%, 50Hz±3 Hz;
Control power: 220V±10%.50Hz±3 Hz.
3.Heating system and electrical control system
3.1.Heating System
a)heating components—silicon carbide rod (6 pieces in total)
Control system: temperature controller (imported from Taiwan, 2 pieces), electronic power regulator, contactor, relay.
Temperature sensing component: thermal coupling (2 pieces together, 1 for measuring the hearth atmosphere temperature and another for measuring the molten aluminum temperature)
3.2.Electrical control system (PID control)
The thyristors are the main controlling component of the electrical control system. The output current is controlled through the change of the conduction angle of the thyristor. The electric aluminum holding furnace employs the advanced phase control and firing circuit to control the conduction angle of the thyristor. The temperature controller has various protection functions. When the aluminum smelting furnace temperature rises over the upper limit or the current is abnormal due to faults, the controller can automatically stop pulse output, and stop power supply.
